Pregnancy is no balloon ride. It’s tough, everything hurts, and no one seems to understand. It doesn’t take much to either make your day miserable or delightful. But all it takes are a few simple hacks to let you rest a little easier while waiting for your bundle of joy.

1) Use Kenesio Bands

Using Kinesio muscle tape can ease the tension in the later months of pregnancy. Apply it to the bottom half of your abdomen in whatever design is most comfortable to relieve pain and lift your stomach slightly. You will feel more secure and relaxed right away.

2) Make A To-Do List For Others

While you probably have a to-do list for yourself you just can’t seem to get done, you might think about making another one. People are always asking pregnant women how they can help. Give them your to-do list and let them pick something. Accepting help can be difficult but people really do want to pitch in.

If you can still wear your old bras fairly comfortably but they aren’t big enough, then get a bra extender. You can wear all of your favorites this way and still be comfy. You can get them at any department store, Walmart, or online.

4) Find Multi-Purpose Pants

It isn’t so great when you spend hundreds of dollars on maternity clothes that you have to donate after the baby is born. So find some pants that you like to wear that will fit now and afterward. Sweat pants or harem pants make a great dual-function pair.

5) Soak Your Feet In Tonic Water

Swollen feet happen in those later months. That third trimester makes you feel like you can’t even walk sometimes. One thing that seems to help many women is soaking their feet in tonic water each night before bed. Or when your feet are at their worst if you have time.

6) Check With Your Doctor About Dates To Induce

Ask your doctor before doing this, but many claim that eating five to seven dates a day induced labor. The labor was not premature, but if you start eating them early enough, other mommas say that you will have your baby on time or a few days early.

7) Potato Chips When You Can’t Eat

Potato chips are tasty! But they are also one of the only foods you can eat when you have an upset stomach. To get through morning sickness, try eating a few potato chips. If you can keep that down, have a few more. Keep doing it until you feel up to something like toast.

8) Apple Cider Vinegar For Heartburn

When Tums are no longer cutting it, you may turn to a little apple cider vinegar to get rid of heartburn. So many swear by this stuff for all sorts of purposes like deodorizing, preserving, and cleaning. But it can also be good in small amounts to calm that burn.

9) Pregnancy Parking Spots Are For You

You may feel bad about parking in a handicapped parking space, but once you feel like you actually could use it, don’t feel guilty. In hospital parking lots, there’s actually designated parking spots for pregnant women, but at grocery stores, they are all in one with the handicapped ones.

You’ll make sure that your little one gets their electrolytes when they are sick, so make sure you do while you’re carrying them too. When you are feeling icky, drink your electrolytes. Ask your doctor if you need to drink them any other time.

A trash picker-upper can be great for that third trimester when you feel like it’s so much work to get up off the couch. Or if you can’t quite bend over to pick something up. It has so many uses throughout your pregnancy and will be useful when you’re recovering as well.

Women who use an exercise ball during their pregnancy report easier and smoother deliveries. Ask your doctor when you should start using one and the best exercises for your particular needs. Don’t exert yourself too much!

13) Sports Bra Are Cheaper Than Maternity Bras

When you can’t find maternity bras that suit you, turn to exercise bras. Sports bras work if you get them in a size larger than you’d normally wear. They are way cheaper and super comfortable too. You can also sneak one in as a swimsuit top in the summer.

14) Freeze Your Bra

There’s nothing like a chilled bra to relief pain and pressure in your breasts. They usually send you home ice packs for this purpose, but until then, freeze your bra and relax. More women need to know about this one, no matter if they are pregnant or not.

15) Inner Tube For Sleeping

If you are dying to sleep in your stomach but can’t, try using an inner tube. You shouldn’t sleep in one all night, but a few minutes on your stomach can do you a world of good, ease back pain, and make you feel that freedom you crave.

16) Extend Your Waist

To wear your jeans a little longer, use a hair tie to extend them. It’s super easy and can be used on almost any pair of jeans. They will hide underneath your shirt too. Just slip the tie through the hole, put it through itself, and hook it onto the button.

Staying hydrated is always important, but when you’re staying hydrated for two, it’s even more important. In general, you’ll want to make sure you get eight to ten 8-oz glasses of water each day to stay hydrated. Make sure you look for signs of dehydration, especially in the summer and dryer climates.

18) Put An Ice Pack Under Your Band

If you have a belly band, put an ice pack underneath it to ease tension. You can also get cooling muscle bands, but it may be hard to find some that fit around your belly. That’s why it’s best to make your own. Just make sure there’s something between the pack and your stomach.

Pregnancy pillows are underrated. If you don’t have one, get one. You will fall in love with it and use it after the baby is born. They are game-changing when it comes to sleeping comfortably and your baby will thank you too.

Although it is important to take a prenatal vitamin, make sure you’re getting enough calcium and magnesium. Ask your doctor if you should take the additional supplement before buying them. When it doubt, ask your doctor, always.

Many pregnant women turn to yoga to help them relax and stretch their bodies and minds before labor. Start early on and you should be able to keep it up throughout the pregnancy. Hopefully, you’ll do so after the baby is born as well. Always check with your doctor first before starting any exercise program.

Popsicles can ease your stomach and they are cool. Since pregnant women seem to always be hot, a popsicle can change their day. While ice cream sounds amazing, it doesn’t always set well. So popsicles are also a good happy medium for your cravings.

23) Make A Baby First Aid

Before the baby is born, make sure you have everything on hand. Put your first aid stuff together for easy access. Include Mylicon, baby bandages, baby Tylenol, and anti-biotic ointment. Make a list and make sure you have all of it ready in a cute little box kept high on the shelf in the bathroom.

24) Use A Tank For A Shirt Extender

This hack makes dressing so much easier. No one wants that belly showing, it makes a girl feel self-conscious. Avoid this by cutting a tank and adding it it underneath. You won’t have to face the heat of the extra layer and you can choose where it ends.

25) Dermoplast Is Your Best Friend

They will send you some of this for postpartum healing, but it has so many uses before then. Use it to prevent razor burn on your sensitive skin! Dermoplast has so many uses that soothe burns and itches that won’t seem to go away.
