The Golden Buzzer is an addition to Britain’s Got Talent” implemented in Season 9 (2014) of the show. Its original purpose was to break any ties between the four judges and could only be used once by each judge during the season. More recently, it was upgraded to send any act it was used on directly to the semi-final round, also known as the beginning of the live shows.
