What happens when we throw boiling water in the air with a temperature below 0 degrees?

Enter Alaska the last frontier

Seward’s Folly was bought from the Russians in the year 1868 thus becoming the 49th state of the United States of America named Alaska.

The state has big open spaces, it has a very cold climate, and different kind of species lives in it which is good for the livelihood of the people.

It is called the last frontier because it is too big and too far from the other 48 states that America has. Its geographical composition is so good for building military bases, also good for training soldiers.

Alaska is also called the Land of the Midnight Sun because the sun does not set for 84 days in the state’s northern territories.

A YouTuber with an account name of Metal detecting in Alaska (keithie6) tried to do an experiment in a -52°c weather.

Gone with the wind

After being thrown into the air, the water evaporated and was converted into something like dust particles that were blown away by the strong wind.

Some netizens were expecting a different result, like me I was imagining that the water that was thrown in the air will solidify itself and come down breaking as small pieces of ice.

“Floats away like a cloud”, says the YouTuber on the caption of his video.

It really did float like clouds. When the water was thrown out in the air its color changed from clear to white then it suddenly disappeared like smoke.

Slow-motion

Good thing there is a there’s a slow-motion technology in making videos in order for the viewers to carefully look at what happened.

On the 1:20 mark of the video, we can see what the man did and what happened to the water in slow motion.

It was really amazing to watch! The water evaporated in the air and slowly became like tiny snowflakes in the form of dust before it completely disappeared.

Sub Zero

I’m not talking about the Mortal Kombat character who freezes his opponents. Sub-Zero is a temperature wherein it is below 0 degrees. It is really hard to emphasize this kind of weather because it could be a temperature below 0 Fahrenheit or even below 0 kelvin.

Going out with this kind of weather is pretty dangerous for a person. You need to have suitable clothing to survive and not be able to have hypothermia.

Even though the weather was harsh that day, the YouTuber was able to pull it off and entertain his subscribers. The experiment was a success and he was able to feed the curious minds of the people behind the computer.
